RULES OF PREPOSITION (বাংলায়)

Preposition কাকে বলে: যে শব্দ বাক্যের অন্যান্য পদের সাথে Noun/ Pronoun বা এই জাতীয় পদের সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করে তাকে Preposition বলে। প্রিপজিশন সাধারণত Noun/ Pronoun/Noun Phrase এর আগে বসে।

ARTICLE AND ITS USES

Article

 

ইংরেজিতে a, an, the এই তিনটি শব্দ কে article বলে। কেউ কেউ এই শব্দগুলি কে নির্দেশক বা determiner বলেছেন আবার Nesfield এগুলিকে বিশেষণ বা Adjective বলেছেন।

 

Article এর প্রকারভেদ

Article দুই প্রকার-

 

1. Definite Article (The): কোন নির্দিষ্ট বস্তু বা ব্যক্তি কে বোঝানোর জন্য 'The' বসে। তাই এটিকে Definite Article বলে।

উদাহরণ: The Sun, The Ganges.

 

2. Indefinite Article (A, An): এই দুটি শব্দের দ্বারা নির্দিষ্ট কোন কিছুকে বোঝানো হয় না, সাধারণ বস্তু বা ব্যক্তিকে বোঝানো হয়। তাই এদের Indefinite Article বলে।

উদাহরণ: a book, a man.

3	স্বরধ্বনি বা ভাওয়েল দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া শব্দের উচ্চারণ যদি 'ইউ' বা 'ওয়া' -র মত হয় তখন A বসে। An বসে না।	A one-eyed man, a unit
4	ব্যঞ্জনবর্ণ দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া শব্দের উচ্চারণ যদি স্বরধ্বনির মত হয় তাহলে তার আগে An বসবে।	An MLA, An MA
5	শব্দের শুরুতে 'H' থাকলে এবং 'H' এর উচ্চারণ উহ্য থাকলে An বসবে।	An hour, an honest man

7	পেশা বোঝাতে A/An বসে	He is a teacher. Ram is an engineer
8	দাম , গতি,  অনুপাত ইত্যাদি বোঝাতে A/An বসে	Rice sells at Rs 35 a kilo He earns Rs 20000 a month
9	প্রতি বা Per বোঝাতে A/An বসে	He types 30 words a minute. He drives car 50 miles an hour
10	জাতি, ধর্মের নাম বোঝাতে A/An বসে	He is a Muslim boy. I am an Indian.
11	বিস্ময় বোঝাতে what  এর পর A/An বসে	What an idea! What a beautiful sight it is!
12	Quite, many, rather, such ইত্যাদি শব্দের পর বিস্ময় বোঝাতে what এর পর A/An বসে	He is such an adorable boy. Many a singer performed the song, Quite a family party went there. He is rather a good man.
13	Mr., Mrs, Miss এর আগে কখনো কখনো A বসে (যদি সেই ব্যক্তি অপরিচিত হয়)	A Miss. Sen, A Mr. Barman.
14	Proper noun কে common noun হিসেবে ব্যবহার করার সময় A বসে	Today I met a Ram. An Ujjal helped me.
15	Little, few, great ইত্যাদি শব্দ বা শব্দবন্ধের আগে A বসে	It is a great deal indeed. A few girls attended the class.
16	কোন কিছুর মত বা কারোর মতো বোঝাতে A/An বসে	He is like an angel. I want to be a footballer.
17	নির্দিষ্ট কোন বস্তু বা ব্যক্তি কে অনির্দিষ্ট বোঝাতে A/An বসে	He is a Rabindranath. A Rabin came here.
18	Hundred, thousand, million dozen, billion ইত্যাদির আগে A বসে	He bought a dozen bananas. A hundred thousand people came here.
19	কখনো A/An preposition হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয়	He went a hunting.
20	Noun in apposition এর আগে A/an বসে	Ram, a good boy, went there.
