Answer: Mohan Lal always expected some Englishmen as his co-passengers. In that case it would be an enjoyable journey for him. He used to read The Times and used to fill cross-word puzzle to attract the attention the fellow passengers. He had also his Balliol tie as other’s attraction. He ordered whisky. And lastly, he opened his gold cigarette case full of English cigarettes. It made other think that how he had got those in India. He knew well that all these things would automatically arrest the attention of the Englishmen. Consequently, these unfolded a vista leading to fairy-land of his span time in Oxford College, of dinner, dresses, games and even of the prostitutes of England who are more charming to him than his wife Lachmi and the Indians.Thus he attracted the English men and enjoyed his train journey.
