Once Chubukov lends their threshing machine to Lomov postponing their own threshing. In past times, their relation was so good that they did not mistrust each other and without any agreement, Lomov’s aunt’s grandmother gave the free use of their Oxen Meadows to Natalya’s great grandfather.
