What advices does warden give to Jimmy and what are Jimmy’s reactions to it?

Answer:  The main character of O’ Henry’s story Jimmy Valentine, Jimmy is imprisoned for a burglary case in Springfield. He has spent nearly ten months of his four-year sentence and is called to warden’s office. The warden gives Jimmy his pardon, signed by the Governor and informs him about his release in the next morning. Then the warden advises him not to crack safes anymore and tells him to be a good man. Warden also praises Jimmy as a good man at heart. Hearing these, Jimmy pretends to be innocent as if he has been puzzled and he knows nothing about criminality. He claims that he has never cracked any safes in his life. Jimmy also denies all the charges on him relating to the Springfield case for which he is in jail.
