Santiniketan, March26: The whole nation woke up hearing the stunning news that Tagore’s Nobel Medel was stolen from Rabindra Bhavan Museum last night. It is unknown when the theft was actually committed. The burglars took away the Novel Medal, several valuable paintings, gold pocket watch, several silver and ivory items, jewellery, and a sari of Tagore’s wife. The police came in the morning and started an enquiry. The investigation shows that the thieves fled away breaking the iron grills of the windows. This fact raised a question mark on the protection of those valuable antique pieces. The high authorities as well as the Prime Minister have been informed. Police are searching all around and have kept eyes on the border areas.
