SEVEN STORIED BUILDING COLLAPSED, DIED 11

Kolkata, Jan26, 2013: Yesterday at about 11 pm a seven storied building collapsed near Salt lake, Kolkata. According to a special source at that time most of the people were sleeping in their rooms and suddenly it collapsed. The source added that 11 people including a child died on the spot. Over 25 people were seriously injured. The local people came to rescue the victims. The seriously wounded persons were sent to nearby hospital and the minor injured persons were released after first-aid. It is suspected that low quality of building materials and huge defects in construction works caused this accident. It is also suspected that the soil testing was not done properly before the construction. According to the latest news the promoter and the building contractor were arrested and now the whole area is in total silence.
