WILD ELEPHANTS CREATE PANIC,KILLED-1

Tezpur, 26 Jan,13 : Yesteday at about 12.30 am a herd of about 50 elephants caused a massive damage in a village under Tezpur police station. According to a special source the herd attacked many houses and suddenly they pulled out a woman(Mrs. Umakanti Das, 55years old) from her house while she was sleeping. It is considered that
due to lack of food in the forest the elephants came in the village. The source added that the elephants killed that woman and also made a serious damaged to many houses and crops. However, the others villagers could able to escape from their houses. The incident has created a panic among the villagers. According to the latest news the forest officers came and brought the wild elephants under control.
