A HORRIBLE TRAIN ACCIDENT, DIED 42

Panipath,Sept 9,2003—Yesterday at about 5 a.m a devastating train accident took place near Panipath. According to a special source the Delhi Express and Punjab Mail came in the same track near Panipath. The eyewitness said that dense morning fog made the signal light almost obscure and Punjab Mail came in the wrong track which was previously occupied by the Delhi Express ; it caused a head on collision. The source added that 6 compartments along with the two engines were totally damaged. 42 people lost their lives and over 125 people were seriously injured. Seeing the accident the local people came to rescue the victims. The seriously wounded persons were sent to nearby hospital and minor wounded persons were released after first-aid. The Railway Minister has declared that the nearest relatives of the dead persons shall be given 3 lakhs. According to the latest news the police and the railway men came and they are trying to bring the situation under control.
