Paragraph on The Curse of Dowry

Paragraph on The Curse of Dowry

Dowry is a heinous  marital system in our society where parents of bride have to give certain money or property to bridegroom for completing their daughters’ marriage. The main reason of dowry is our social unconsciousness. Bridegroom demands dowry and the parents of the bride have to be the victims. Sometimes many poor parents are not able to fulfill the demands of the concerned bridegroom and as a result the bride becomes the subject of various tortures in her husband’s house and even sometimes, she commits suicide. The system has actually diverted us to such an evil society that human of mortal dignities cannot live in it. Moreover, as most of our parents are poor, major people of our society suffer through this cyclical process. As a conscious person of the society, I protest against this social curse. The government as well as whole people of our society should take pragmatic steps against this social curse.

Paragraph on My Hobby

Paragraph on My Hobby

Hobby is an activity which is taken up merely for the sake of pleasure. When we are tired by the dullness of our daily activities, hobby serves as a source of refreshment. Different people have different types of hobbies. But my favourite hobby is stamp-collection. Stamps contain different types of little pictures of noble persons, places and objects. I have collected stamps from many countries. I seem to have smells of different countries from where they come. Stamps are also a source of knowledge. Often a stamp gives us a graphic idea of the country, its people and also its culture. Stamp-collection is an education in itself. I find peace, pleasure, refreshment in collecting these.

A pet is an animal which is kept in a family as a member of it. I have a dog as my pet named Lucky. Lucky is very gentle and loyal to everyone in our family. It follows me like a shadow and goes with me wherever I go. Lucky is also like a friend to me. In the afternoon when I return from my school Lucky becomes overjoyed and begins to wag its tail. It always likes to sit on my lap. But it never disturbs me when I am very busy. Lucky likes to eat different types of biscuits, meats and bred. Lucky is very much alert too. Whenever at night or day any unknown voice is heard, it begins to bark. I love Lucky very much. I can’t part with him even for a day.

Paragraph on A Village Market

Paragraph on A Village Market

A village market is generally held in a open place on the outskirts of a village. Usually it meets six day in a week. Men from far and near come there to sell and buy. One hardly can see a permanent stall in a village market. Different types of fresh commodities like vegetables, fish etc are either kept in basket or placed on the ground for selling. In some village markets even cattle and goats are sold. Always there remain a large crowd and noise. The sellers always shout to attract customers’ attention. The articles sold in the market are mostly local produced. Everyday villagers meet on a common platform forgetting their social positions and classes. Buying and selling go on till dusk. Then the sellers go home. The markets remain empty till the next morning.

Paragraph on My Favourite Cinema

Paragraph on My Favourite Cinema

Some days ago I have seen the film ‘Kshudita Pashan’. It is a film to be remembered. This is based on a story of same name by Rabindranath Tagore and was superbly directed by Tapan Sinha. The film is full of imagination and it is the pure fabrication of the sub-conscious mind of the cotton-collecter, the main character of the film. Soumitra Chatterjee plays the role of the main character with the heroine Arundhati Mukherjee. The supernatural atmosphere is intensified very much with the back-ground music and scenes in the darkness. Another character, Meher Ali, his voices and appearances increase the suspense in the film. The songs of the court musician were enchanting. It left a lasting impression on my mind. Overall, the photography plays a vital role which brings the unseen world of imagination before my eyes.

Paragraph on Travelling is a Part of Education

Paragraph on Travelling is a Part of Education

By travelling we mean moving from one place to another place. It may be for education, for business or for any other purposes. Whatever the cause, travelling is always a part of education. There is a English proverb that a rolling stone gathers no moss. It means one who travels remains ever bright in body and mind. When we travel, we come in contact with various languages, people, cultures, natural beauty. All these widen our knowledge. A man who does not travels, suffers from meanness when broadness of mind is necessary. Travelling also removes our monotony of life. It refreshes our body and mind to face any bad situation of life.

Paragraph on My Favourite Book

Paragraph on My Favourite Book

“Pather Panchali”, is one of the master piece of Bibhuti Bhusan Banerjee, is my favourite book. The story deals with the joy and sorrow of village life. Brother and sister, Apu and Durga belong to a simple village family of Bengal. They always move about and play with each other. One day Durga falls ill getting drenched in rain and dies. Apu and his family are terribly blown by her death. Due to poverty Apu’s father and his family leave the home for Benaras. That is the plot in brief. Writer has shown a real picture of village life through the characters and the description of rural Bengal. The life of Apu shows that joy and sorrow always remain in every human’s life beside each other. Whenever I read this book it seems that I am in the midst of rural atmosphere of Bengal.

Paragraph on Discipline.

Paragraph on Discipline

Discipline means obedient to certain rules and practice. It is necessary in every field of our life. Discipline is the immense necessity on student life. Every student should acquire this virtue right from his child-hood. Without the discipline the very flow of the life may be hampered. Discipline helps the students to touch the feet of success. But now-a-days there is all pervasive indiscipline in our society and the students are no exception. But it will be an injustice to blame the students totally as the bad politics and bad circumstances lead the students to indiscipline. Discipline is neither the denial of personal liberty nor a thing to be imposed from outside rather it is a spontaneous virtue comes from inside of a man. Overall, it can be said the discipline is a treasure that tends to shape up the body and mind of a man.

Paragraph on An Educational Tour to Murshidabad

Paragraph on An Educational Tour to Murshidabad

Last winter I made an educational tour to Murshidabad by train with some of my class-mates. We started our journey at night and we reached there the next day. After a short rest we began our visiting. At first, we visited the famous palace of the Nawab. It was a grand structure with thousand doors. We walked along the long corridors and watched the huge paintings on the walls that remembered us the historical past. Next, we visited Nawab’s Armoury where we saw Siraj’s own tomb, swords, weapons etc. Then we visited the house of Jagat Sheth, Lal Gola, Imambara and as well as many historical houses of Murshidabad. That was the end of our tour. This tour made an impression on our minds about this historical place and about the last independent ruler of Bengal, Siraj-Ud-Doullah.

Paragraph on Students and Politics

Paragraph on Students and Politics

In the college a student comes contact with the politics for the first time. The main fact is that whether students should participate in politics or not, has been and is being widely discussed. In this context some people opines that students must not join politics and they should devote themselves to their studies.  On the other hand some people think that politics enables the students to come in contact with real problems of life. According to them it will help them to mature their minds and to become a better citizen. Students are the future citizens of our country. So there is no reason to keep them out of politics. According to my point of view there is no wrong with students to take part in politics but they should not misuse it and they should not be detached from studies. I think so because many great politicians of India were once involved with politics at their student-life and in future they had become the greatest figures of India.

Paragraph on Duties of Students

Paragraph on Duties of Students

Paragraph on Early Rising

Paragraph on Early Rising

Early to bed and early to rise
Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

By early rising we mean the habit of getting up from bed early in the morning. It is a good habit for all especially for the students. A man who gets up early has certainly a better start in his day’s work. Also the morning air is good for health. Those students who rise early, get more time at hand to devote to studies. The span of human life is short. So an early riser can use the most of his valuable time and can attain the success. Those who rise late often suffer from different diseases. They cannot do the right thing at right time. So we all should make early rising a habit in the interest of health, education, and mind.
