DEVASTATING MIDNIGHT FIRE AT RANAGHAT, DIED 7

      Ranaghat, January 16 : Yesterday at midnight a devastating fire broke out at Ranaghat. According to the special source the fire affected a slum area where poor people were asleep after day’s hard labour. The eyewitness said that the source of the fire was a kitchen and suddenly the fire broke out in the whole slum area. The source added that almost Hundreds of huts were brunt to ashes. Seven persons were burnt alive and many people received serious or minor burn injuries. The probable value of the total loss is likely to run several lakhs rupees. The local neighbor people came to rescue the victims. The seriously wounded persons were sent to nearby hospital and the minor wounded persons were released after first-aid. Four fire-engines worked the whole night and brought the fire under control in the morning. The police came and started the inquiry.
